Texas Teardrops Quilt Along

It's with great excitement that I'm announcing our very first Quilt Along!  I hope you will join us beginning in April.  This Quilt Along will feature my original quilt pattern, Texas Teardrops.

Texas Teardrops designed by Vicki Ruebel

As a reminder...you do NOT need to have a blog to participate.  Everyone is welcome!  Make sure you join the Flickr group and upload pictures throughout your journey.  The Flickr group is also a great place to ask questions if you run into any trouble.  I have started a discussion so we can introduce ourselves.  Don't be shy...go say hello!

The Texas Teardrops pattern is now available in my Craftsy store.  There is a $5.00 charge for the pattern which will increase to $10.00 after the quilt along.  Please let me know if you have any issues purchasing and downloading the pattern.

The schedule for the quilt along is as follows:

1 April:  Discuss fabrics and notions needed for the quilt.  This will be the time to gather your supplies and get ready to have some fun.

8 April:  Preparing the templates and fusible web

11 April:  Cutting the teardrops

22 April:  Adhering the teardrops to blocks

24 April:  Appliqueing the teardrops

6 May:  Squaring up your blocks

14 May:  Constructing the quilt top

21 May:  Adding borders

27 May ~ 10 June:  Add pictures of your final quilt to the Flickr group and be eligible for lots of awesome prizes.

I would like everyone to know that the schedule is subject to change at my discretion.  This is my first quilt along so I may need to adjust some of the dates if it appears I didn't allow enough time for the different steps.  My main goal is for everyone to be successful.

There have been a couple requests to make smaller projects.  I am completely ok with that.  In fact, if you want to make a smaller version and need a little help with the math, just let me know.

Finally, I do have the fat quarter bundles listed in our store.  There's also a background fabric kit that includes the background fabric, steam a seam and a small applique sheet.  You can pick between white, porcelain, grey & black for the background fabric.  Remember, you are not required to purchase fabric from us.  I just wanted to offer some bundles that I thought would look awesome with this pattern.  Don't wait too long because the bundles are limited.

Prizes!  Yes there will be prizes.  I haven't gotten the pictures yet but you will love the prizes.  I have fat quarter bundles and some awesome Aurifil threads!  Plus, I have a couple other leads for more goodies.

Please help me spread the word by grabbing a button and pasting it all over your blog {big cheesy smile and batting my eyes at you}.

Feel free to leave a comment if you have any questions.  I think I've addressed everything that's been asked so far.  I can't wait to get started!

I would just love to try this quilt along but I'd need fabric and I have no job!! I don't know if I have enough in my meager stash since I've only just begun to quilt. I suppose I can still follow along and pick up some pointers, right? I know you had this quilt in some online competition a while back, and I voted for it :)

It took a while (not telling how long!)but I finally remembered how to add a button and there you are... or your quilt is, on my blog! Which isn't much of a blog because I forget to write, or type and then forget how to do things.
BUT, I now have three buttons! Yup, I'm proud of myself! LOL
Do we really have to wait until APRIL for this QAL??? *sigh* Patience is NOT one of my virtues!

I am wondering how much the Texas Teardrops stitch along is going to cost?.. Do we use our own fabric? How many blocks per month?
Love the quilt..

Your icon is on my blog too and bring on April even if I will be another year older at the end of that month. Sure beats the alternative though.

I will add it to mine but I can't figure out all the letters so I will just use your blog address. I am not sure because it looks like there is easing in, but I'm going to be there for first class!
